Energize your career at Exelon!<br><br>PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION <br>This position on the Media Team is responsible for developing and executing external communications programs and activities as needed by the Senior Manager of Media Relations or Director of External Communications.
The manager works with supervisors to develop media relations, corporate reputation and issues management strategies, tactics and messages for audiences including media, investment community, regulators/legislators, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), customers, and key communities.
The manager works regularly with senior executives to prepare them for media interviews and speaking engagements, manage media interviews and provide media coaching.
The manager serves as a key corporate spokesperson and point of contact for national and local business media on issues related to Exelon Corporate, including Exelon�s overall business strategy, financial performance/M&A, energy legislation and regulations, environmental performance, corporate philanthropy/volunteerism, and special projects, such as Exelon�s advocacy for state and federal policies that promote zero-carbon energy.
The manager independently manages projects and works directly with other departments and operating companies to ensure consistent, accurate messaging and strategy.
Responsibilities include: ongoing national and local media relations, senior executive speaking engagements, interaction with public relations/public affairs vendors, and community outreach.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES <br>1 Ensure effective communication of company goals and initiatives to external stakeholders.
</p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;">2 Support and participate in the development and implementation of external communications programs and initiatives.
</p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;">3 Manage a variety of external activities to manage corporate issues and support executive leadership, including writing and managing approvals of press releases and pitches, media statements, talking points and Q&A, articles, presentations/speeches and other materials.
</p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;">4 Develop strong working relationship with the media and internal subject matter experts </p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;">5 Coordinate media outreach initiatives as needed.
<br><br>POSITION SPECIFICATIONS <br>Minimum: </p><br><ul><br><li>4-year relevant degree and a minimum of 8 - 10 years experience in communications with focus on media relations.
</li><br><li>Proven, excellent communications skills - both written and interpersonal.
</li><br><li>Strong analytical skills </li><br><li>Excellent organizational and presentation skills </li><br><li>Proven ability to be innovative and creative </li><br><li>Ability to work autonomously and interface easily with senior business leaders and the press.
