This position within Utility Communication�s Group (UComm) services the Pepco Holdings Utilities organizations for their real-time networking and transport needs.   Additionally, this position service all of Exelon for radio communications outside of mesh radios.   </p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;"> </p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;">The job of the East Coast UComm Manager is to ensure all service levels are being met with a significant focus on client engagement, process and technology improvement opportunities that cover scope of services, cost of services and timeliness of services provided by UComm.   Improvement opportunities will require this person to develop strong working relationships with the other managers within UComm.   </p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;"> </p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;">This position should plan to work with the operations managers of UComm and the engineering managers to reduce the gaps of equipment standards across the Exelon Utilities fleet, leveraging people and services across geographies to increase productivity.   This manager will be responsible for delivering operational services and solutions on time, within budget and with the required functionality. Participate in developing and implementing strategy/policy around UComm�s networking and telecommunications equipment, processes and people. Manage projects of high complexity, size and change management risk.   A strong understanding and relationship with union organizations will be required in order to achieve field work in certain areas.   </p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;"> </p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;">As this is an operations role, regular work schedules may deviate from 9-5 M-F.   Storm Restoration Coverage for IT may be required. </p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;"> </p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;"><strong> PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:</strong></p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;"> </p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;">- Lead and manage IT staff and resources in accordance with IT Business Plan. For projects: Plan and manage scope, schedule, and budget for defined deliverables in accordance with IT project management standards. For operations/application maintenance: Plan and manage to defined service level agreements at agreed upon budgets.   This role is an operational role and will consume most of manager�s time; however some project activities will be included in his/her deliverables. It is critical for this person to be able to balance the demands of the operations side while still meeting the project delivery time frames (scope, schedule and budget).   In most cases with respect to projects managed with your scope, this position will ensure that outsourced labor workforce of appropriate caliber are engaged to execute project work.   <br></p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;">- Operate utilizing standard processes as defined within the Exelon Management Model. Oversee process improvement efforts and ensure adoption of standard processes and procedures that deliver sustainable top quartile cost and performance levels.   <br></p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;">- Establish, maintain, and enhance relationships with business and IT partners. Communicate status to key stakeholders on a regular basis.   <br></p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;">- Maintain current business knowledge/acumen, including application of technology solutions to deliver business results. <br></p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;">- Evaluate performance and provide coaching for IT personnel. Participate in career development and succession planning processes. Promote diversity and foster teamwork, collaboration, and a learning organization. Provide input on development and retention processes for IT employees. <br></p><br><p style="MARGIN-BOTTOM:0px;MARGIN-TOP:0px;">- Prepare and manage budget for area of responsibility. </p>
