​​​​​​​I have a Bachelor of Science degree, Business Administration, from Susquehanna University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Delaware. I spent the first 6 years of my career working in real estate development as an Assistant Project Manager and subsequently as a Project Manager. I enjoy dirt bike and motorcycle riding, skiing, swimming and basketball. I love spending time with my wife and kids.  ​

Tell us about your job at Exelon.

I work in the Portfolio Modeling and Systems group at Constellation, located at the Candler Building in Baltimore’s inner harbor. Our group is responsible for managing the forward risk system and its related reports, modeling Constellation’s wholesale generation and load portfolio, and ensuring the completeness and the accuracy of the model’s inputs. We Support the Commercial business, Financial Planning and Analysis group, and Risk organization in the analysis of positions, valuations, and risk metrics.

What made you want to work for Exelon?

I wanted to work at Exelon because it has a great reputation as a corporate citizen. It’s part of a dynamic and always changing industry, and because it has a lot of opportunity for personal and professional development. I felt that if I got my foot in the door and worked hard, I could reach my professional goals here.

What do you like most about working for Exelon?

I love learning about the power and fuel markets the company operates in. Constellation is at the forefront of a lot of these markets and it’s great to be a part of a company that gets to be in that position. What I love most about my current job is being part of the team that gets to help understand how we value our company’s assets. We get to answer questions like: What does a new load contract do to our portfolio? Or, what does a change in natural gas price do to our generation fleet’s value?

What activities do you participate in outside of work?

I am a mentor to a student at a local Baltimore middle school through the Living Classrooms Foundation and a member of the local PTA. Professionally I’m a member of the Project Management Institute.

A Day in the Life

7:30 AM
I start by preparing the morning report for internal team members. This report compares day over day changes in the "SimCube", an important tool traders use to manage their positions. If any "odd" variances are found, we investigate to make sure the system has captured everything properly.
8:30 AM​
Review and respond to emails that have come in this morning or overnight.
9:00 AM
Review the prior day’s analyst reports and industry newsletters and guides.
10:00 AM
Our group always has several ongoing projects to improve the risk system and all the related tools and reports. System enhancements include things like implementing new pricing curves at the event of a market change, extending the system's reporting window and streamlining the underlying systems database through improved code.
12:00 PM
I eat lunch at my desk, review emails and talk amongst the team. Often on Friday I'll meet friends and other co-workers at a local restaurant.
1:00 PM
Work on modeling new load RFPs (request for proposals), load auction wins, or changes with generator supply contracts and schematics.
4:00 PM
I review the next day’s objectives with the team, talk about best practices leared that day and touch base with other stakeholders about potential issues.
5:00 PM
I begin to head home and will either walk or take the company shuttle to the train station. I enjoy the pace the train gives me compared to fighting traffic.
