PHILADELPHIA (May 6, 2008) – PECO has appointed two veteran utility leaders to new posts in its operating group – Ron Bradley as vice president, Support Services and Eric Helt as vice president, Electric Operations/Construction & Maintenance (C&M).
Bradley was appointed, vice president, Support Services, responsible for safety, environmental, methods and training, performance assessment, fleet services, real estate and facilities, IT and supply.
He served most recently as chief security officer at the PJM Interconnection LLC. in Valley Forge. He previously worked as director of transmission system operations for PECO and its Chicago-based sister company, ComEd, and earlier as director of environmental, safety and industrial hygiene. He originally joined PECO in 1984 and worked both as a plant manager in the power generation and in utility operations during his tenure.
Bradley is on the board of directors of The Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition. He is a recipient of the YMCA Black Achiever’s Award and served as a mentor in the Philadelphia Regional Introduction of Minorities to Engineering program for 10 years. He is a graduate of Widener University (B.S., Engineering) and Penn State University (MBA). He and his wife Michelle live in North Wales.
Helt will oversee electric distribution operations with oversight for work management, new business, and the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance programs. His organization will maintain its focus on employee safety, engagement and productivity efforts and improving reliability and customer satisfaction.
A 20-year PECO veteran, he has served in a variety of engineering and managerial posts. He had served as director of gas distribution operations and previously as manager of gas supply and acquisition. Earlier, he was manager, field operations, and directed personnel to ensure appropriate handling of electric and gas emergencies; manager, distribution engineering, and manager, gas corrosion control and leak survey.
He holds a bachelor’s of science degree in electrical engineering from Syracuse University and earned an MBA in finance from Villanova University. He is a 1999 graduate of Leadership Philadelphia Inc. and participated in the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award Workshop. He and his wife, Sherri live in Upper Gwynedd.
