West Valley Generating Station

West Valley Generating Station

West Valley Generating Station is owned and operated by Exelon Power. West Valley is a five unit, 185 megawatt (MW) fossil power plant located in West Valley City, Utah.

Fueled by natural gas, the plant has five PC Sprint Gas Turbine Generators and is used as needed for peak demand periods.  West Valley joined Exelon Power’s fleet in 2012 through Exelon’s merger with Constellation.

Emergency Planning

All Exelon facilities employ sophisticated emergency response plans to protect public health and safety.  These plans are reviewed and approved by state governments and regulatory agencies.  The emergency planning includes coordination with local counties, municipalities and school districts.

Supporting the Local Economy

West Valley Generating Station pays local real estate taxes every year to support county and township government, area schools, libraries, park districts and other taxing bodies.
