Sunnyside Cogeneration

Sunnyside Cogeneration

Sunnyside Cogeneration is located in Sunnyside, Utah. Sunnyside Cogeneration is fueled by waste coal.

Exelon Power operates the facility and owns 50% (25.5 megawatts) of the station's capacity.  The station’s full capacity is 51 MW.  PacifiCorp has a contract to purchase 100% of Sunnyside’s output.

Exelon added the ownership interest and operations of Sunnyside Cogeneration to its portfolio in 2012 as part of the company’s merger with Constellation.

Emergency Planning

All Exelon facilities employ sophisticated emergency response plans to protect public health and safety.  These plans are reviewed and approved by state governments and regulatory agencies.  The emergency planning includes coordination with local counties, municipalities and school districts.
