Fore River Generating Station

Fore River Generating Station

Fore River Generating Station is owned and operated by Exelon Power, a business unit of Exelon Generation. Fore River is a three unit, 726 megawatt (MW) fossil power plant located in North Weymouth, Massachusetts.

Fore River is a 2-on-1 combined cycle natural gas plant.  Fore River Generating Station joined Exelon Power’s fleet in 2012 as part of Exelon’s merger with Constellation.

Emergency Planning

All Exelon facilities employ sophisticated emergency response plans to protect public health and safety. These plans are reviewed and approved by state governments and regulatory agencies. The emergency planning includes coordination with local counties, municipalities and school districts.

Supporting the Local Economy

Fore River pays local real estate taxes every year to support county and township government, area schools, libraries, park districts and other taxing bodies.
