Sun! Sun! Sun! Here it comes. Using the sun to create energy is the focus of this display.  Here, students can piece together a puzzle to see how electricity is used in everyday life and to demonstrate how adding additional solar panels increases the power that is available.

A second display discusses the power that is generated using solar panels, such as this one at the Exelon-Conergy Solar Energy Center, which is located a few miles from Fairless Hills.  Exelon does not own the solar facility, but has an agreement to buy the power generated from this solar field from Conergy.

Exelon owns and operates the largest urban solar facility in the the United States.  Located in Chicago, Exelon City Solar opened in 2010 and its solar panels are capable of generating 10 megawatts of electricity.
