On Thursday, Oct. 16, Braidwood Generating Station will host a Community Open House at the Exelon Services and Training Center in Wilmington, Ill.
Employees will be on hand to talk with visitors about station operations including enhancements made at the station following the event at the Fukushima nuclear facility in Japan and the many benefits of nuclear energy. An update on tritium remediation will also be provided. Since remediation efforts began in June 2006, tritium groundwater levels have been reduced by more than 99%.
Visitors can also tour Braidwood Station’s main control room simulator which is used to train reactor operators and will have the opportunity to meet Neutron, the Braidwood Police Department’s crime fighting dog.
