Quad Cities Generating Station Removed From Service

Quad Cities Station operators removed Unit 2 from service March 31 to replace a valve on the control rod drive system.

 

 

CORDOVA, Ill. (April 1, 2014) - Quad Cities Station operators removed Unit 2 from service last night to replace a valve on the control rod drive system.
 
This maintenance cannot be performed while the unit is operating. The unit shutdown will not affect electrical service to customers.
 
Quad Cities Station is located approximately three miles north of Quad Cities. The plant produces more than 1800 megawatts of carbon-free electricity, enough to power over one million homes.
