Clinton Power Station operators removed the unit from service today to perform scheduled maintenance on two electrical power supplies that support turbine operation.

CLINTON, Ill. (March 20, 2014) - Clinton Power Station operators removed the unit from service today to perform scheduled maintenance on two electrical power supplies that support turbine operation.

This maintenance, which is on the non-nuclear side of the plant, cannot be performed while the unit is operating. The unit shutdown will not affect electrical service to customers.

Clinton Power Station is located approximately six miles east of Clinton. The plant produces 1,078 megawatts of carbon-free electricity, enough to power nearly one million homes.
