Peach Bottom and Local Responders Test Preparedness Skills During Drill
Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station will participate in a public safety drill on Tuesday, May 5 from approximately 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
DELTA, PA (May 4, 2009) - Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station will participate in a public safety drill on Tuesday, May 5 from approximately 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Residents may notice some emergency-related activity during the drill.
During the drill, emergency responders will arrive and depart Peach Bottom Station. Emergency sirens and emergency lights will not be activated during the drill.
Residents listening to emergency scanners may hear radio communications between the station, York County 9-1-1 and emergency responders. All drill-related messages will be preceded by and concluded with the message "This is a drill."
This is one of several drills held regularly at the station to allow participants to practice their emergency response skills during a realistic scenario.
