Teams of technical experts completed repairs to a failed insulator, which is the source of the power loss. The comprehensive investigation into the failed insulator continues.
The steam release that began when Unit 2 came offline, stopped at approximately 3 a.m. CT.
Station personnel are in communication with local, state and federal officials, including the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on the facility's status.
The Unusual Event is the lowest of the four emergency classifications as established by the NRC.
Byron's Unit 1 continues to safely supply electricity to customers.
