 Exelon Names Executive Vice President Ruth Ann M. Gillis Chief Administrative and Diversity Officer 

 Exelon today announced that company executive Ruth Ann M. Gillis, has been named chief administrative and diversity officer. 


CHICAGO - Exelon today announced that company executive Ruth Ann M. Gillis, 55, has been named chief administrative and diversity officer. Gillis, who will continue in her roles as executive vice president of Exelon Corporation and president of Exelon Business Services Company (BSC), previously held the position of chief diversity officer.  She will continue to report to John W. Rowe, Exelon chairman and CEO.

“From serving as Exelon’s first chief financial officer in 2000 to her current role overseeing transactional and corporate services and diversity initiatives for the Exelon family of companies, Ruth Ann’s contributions to the success of the company have been many and varied,” Rowe said. “Her designation as chief administrative and diversity officer is well deserved, and I have full confidence that she will continue to serve the company with the highest levels of competence and integrity, and to exemplify Exelon’s values.”

As president of Exelon BSC, Gillis oversees Exelon’s information technology, supply chain, real estate and human resources functions, as well as other advisory, professional, technical and support services. As chief administrative and diversity officer, she will continue to direct all Exelon diversity initiatives, including the company’s employee-focused strategy to develop a diverse and inclusive workplace and initiatives to employ diverse range of contract suppliers, vendors and service providers.

Prior to her current position, Gillis served as executive vice president of Exelon subsidiary ComEd, where she was responsible for field operations, customer satisfaction, public and external affairs, and real estate and property management. From Exelon’s inception in October 2000 to October 2002, Gillis served as chief financial officer of Exelon Corp. Prior to the merger that formed Exelon, she was chief financial officer of Unicom Corp., which she first joined as vice president and treasurer in 1997.

Gillis earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Smith College and a master’s of business administration, with a concentration in finance, from the University of Chicago.
