CHICAGO (May 6, 2009) - Exelon Corporation Senior Vice President and Chief Supply Officer M. Bridget Reidy was recognized as one of the "2009 Pros to Know" in an annual survey conducted and published by Supply & Demand Chain Executive.
Reidy is an industry leader and one of 19 purchasing executives to be recognized for this honor. The publication highlights Reidy's ability to demonstrate that environmental and business sustainability are inextricably linked, and that companies can simultaneously create a "green" supply chain while reducing costs. Reidy's initiatives support Exelon 2020, the company's plan to reduce, displace or offset more than 15 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year by 2020.
"Bridget is an outstanding business leader who thinks and acts strategically. She has made a huge difference at Exelon and in the industry. This accolade is well-deserved," said Ruth Ann Gillis, executive vice president of Exelon and president of Exelon Business Services Company.
In addition to this award and other achievements, Reidy is a founding member and current chair of the Electric Utility Industry Sustainable Supply Chain Alliance, a group of investor-owned electric utility companies that are committed to working with non-fuel suppliers to improve environmental performance and advance sustainable business practices in the utility supply chain. Reidy also serves on the Corporate Champions Board at Children's Memorial Hospital, Chicago.
