Pottstown, Pa. - Limerick Generating Station announced today a contribution of $25,000 towards helping Linfield Fire Company purchase a new fire truck and enhance emergency response in the local community.

"We appreciate Limerick Generating Station helping us in any way that they can," said Jack Jeffers, president of Linfield Fire Company.  "The contribution will help us purchase a new fire truck that will benefit everyone in the area in the event of an emergency."

The $25,000 is part of a $500,000 donation announced by Exelon Nuclear last year to benefit residents and first responders in the area. Limerick Generating Station has also contributed $25,000 to the Limerick Fire Company this year. Both fire companies are first responders to the station.

"Linfield Fire Company is a first responder for our station and we appreciate their commitment and dedication to ensuring safety within the community," said Bill Maguire, Limerick Generating Station site vice president.
