 Massaro Named Oyster Creek Site Vice President 

 Joe Grimes, acting senior vice president, Exelon Nuclear, today announced that Michael J. Massaro has been named Oyster Creek site vice president.  Massaro replaces Tim Rausch, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests. 

 

FORKED RIVER, N.J. (June 11, 2009) - Joe Grimes, acting senior vice president, Exelon Nuclear, today announced that Michael J. Massaro has been named Oyster Creek site vice president.  Massaro replaces Tim Rausch, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests.  

Massaro has held various management positions within Exelon Nuclear, including plant manager for Oyster Creek in Forked River, N.J. and Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station in Delta, Pa. He has 25 years of experience in the industry. Massaro earned his senior reactor operator license from PSEG’s Hope Creek Generating Station in Salem County, N.J., where he was also a plant manager, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Design Engineering Technology from Penn State.

“Mike brings a wealth of diversified experience to the Oyster Creek team,” Grimes said.  “I am confident that he will effectively lead the 750 employees at Oyster Creek who help provide New Jersey with carbon-free electricity every day.”

In his new role, Massaro will have overall responsibility for the safe and reliable operation of Oyster Creek and will ensure that the public is kept informed on the operation of the plant.
