Pottstown, Pa. - Exelon Nuclear's Limerick Generating Station Unit 1 resumed producing electricity today following a scheduled maintenance outage after successfully replacing a valve on the plant's steam piping system.  Station operators took the plant offline last weekend to replace the valve to ensure reliable operation of the plant.

Limerick Unit 2 continued to operate during the outage. Limerick Generating Station is located approximately 21 miles northwest of Philadelphia.  With both units at full power, the site can produce enough carbon-free electricity for 2 million homes.
