Peach Bottom Hosts Community Information Night May 22

Annual open house helps inform and engage plant neighbors on station operations

DELTA, PA (May 20, 2014) — Have you ever stepped inside a nuclear station’s main control room? You’ll have a chance to come pretty close later this week as Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station opens its training simulator to the general public during Community Information Night. You’ll see firsthand how operators harness the power of uranium to create safe, reliable power for more than two million homes and businesses.

Community Information Night will be held Thursday, May 22 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Residents are encouraged to attend this free, family-friendly event to learn more about nuclear energy, station operations and current events at Peach Bottom. Station employees will be on hand to educate visitors on safety and security; environmental stewardship; emergency preparedness and much more. Visitors will receive a guided bus tour of the site, and informational handouts and refreshments will be provided.

“We look forward to hosting our neighbors every year,” said Peach Bottom Site Vice President, Mike Massaro. “Community Information Night is a wonderful time to interact with the community and show residents what we do here every day to generate clean and reliable power.”

Visitors are asked to park in the station’s outer parking lot at 1848 Lay Road. Buses will transport visitors to the training center. If you require special accommodations or have questions about Community Information Night, please contact Lacey Dean at 717-456-4818 or Lacey.Dean@exeloncorp.com.
