LaSalle Maintenance Outage - April 2014

Marseilles, Ill. (April 27, 2014) — Operators at LaSalle County Generating Station took Unit 2 offline on Sunday, April 27, at midnight to perform scheduled maintenance on the condenser, a piece of equipment that condenses steam back to water for reuse in the plant. While the unit is offline, additional maintenance activities will be performed to ensure safe and reliable operation during the remainder of the operating cycle. There will be no impact to area customers during this outage. LaSalle Unit 1 will continue to supply electricity to the area while Unit 2 is offline. LaSalle Generating Station is located about 75 miles southwest of Chicago near Marseilles, Ill. At full power, the facility’s two generating units produce more than 2,200 megawatts of carbon free electricity, enough to power 2.3 million typical homes.
