POTTSTOWN, Pa. - Family Services' Meals on Wheels program served the community with laughs from comedian Joe Conklin recently with the help of a $5,000 donation from Limerick Generating Station. The Joe Conklin Comedy Show fundraising event raised funds to help the Meals on Wheels program continue to provide meals to homebound seniors and disabled individuals in Pottstown, Royersford and the Lower Perkiomen Valley.

"I would like to thank Exelon for its continued support of the Meals on Wheels program.  Their support has made a great difference in the lives of seniors in the greater Pottstown area," said Shushma Patel, Meals on Wheels program director.

"Limerick Generating Station is always looking to partner with great neighbors like Family Services," said Bill Maguire, Limerick Generating Station site vice president.  "As a member of the community it is important for us to contribute to worthy organizations that provide essential services like the Meals on Wheels program."

Limerick has contributed more than $13,000 to Family Services' Meals on Wheels program over the past three years.

Each weekday, Family Services' Meals on Wheels program provides two meals, a hot lunch and a cold supper to refrigerate to an average of 170 homebound elderly and disabled individuals in Pottstown, Royersford and the Lower Perkiomen Valley.  Community volunteers personally deliver over 81,000 meals a year, bringing nourishment, friendship and a kind word to those most in need.
