Clinton, IL - Clinton Power Station employees donated more than $65,000 to local community schools and area civic organizations, activities and events through the third quarter of 2011.
Last year the station pledged more than $84,000 to the United Way through the company's payroll deduction program and an additional $21,000 in fundraisers and additional contributions, the largest amount ever given by Clinton employees. The Clinton YMCA was the station's annual agency of choice and the funding plus volunteer labor from employees was used to update the club's locker rooms.
"I'm proud of our employees for their support and involvement in the community," said Site Vice President Bill Noll. "We embrace our neighbors and this generosity is just one example of the positive impact Clinton Station makes in the local communities."
Clinton Power Station served as a corporate sponsor for the city's concert series, Apple and Pork Festival and Celebrate Clinton's summer event. The station again sponsored the Boy Scout Merit Badge Fair, which was held at the plant, assisting over 300 scouts secure valuable merit badges. Other organizations and activities include:
DeWitt County Friendship Center, Clinton YMCA, DOVE shelter, DOVE BABES, Write Stuff For Kids, Eagles Lodge #593, Salt Resource Center Food Pantry, and Urban Restoration Ministry food pantry.
Special Olympics' Polar Plunge, Weldon Public Library District summer reading program and the Decatur Power Drillers annual parade and regional competition.

Clinton Power Station is located approximately six miles east of Clinton, Ill. At full power, the station produces approximately 1,065 net megawatts of carbon-free electricity.
