Furnace and Ductwork

The forced-air furnace is one of the most common types of heating systems found in homes. It uses a duct system to distribute warm air throughout the home and provides even heating.

Furnaces in existing homes are often too big for the heating requirements of the home.  When it’s time to replace your furnace, you may be able to reduce your energy costs by buying a smaller furnace that is the correct size for your house. Other factors to keep in mind are the efficiency rating of the furnace, the type of fuel you are going to use and how the heat will be distributed throughout your home.

In both new and old homes, it is common to find gaps between duct joints. Sealing and insulating exposed ducts in unconditioned areas, such as an attic or crawlspace, can improve your heating system's efficiency, your own comfort and your bottom line.
